Our guiding principles
Keep it local
A Vail local since 1962, Rod was Vail’s first-ever real estate agent and a two-time mayor of the city.
Mark is the visionary developer behind Beaver Creek and Union Station.
Harry is the former CEO of Vail Associates and the Founder and Chairman of the Vail Valley Foundation.
It’s about more than money
Selling our home was a bittersweet moment for us, and our agent recognized our emotions with empathy, understanding, and compassion. She went above and beyond to ensure that our place was properly set up and staged for each showing so we had our best foot forward. Our agent was very knowledgeable about the state of the market. She took the extra time to explain our progress. And she was extremely thorough and persistent on our behalf.

Show up for each other
We talk a lot about Slifer Smith & Frampton being a community, but never have I felt it quite like I did in 2022. That summer, I lost my home — and everything in it — to a fire. I was shocked, reeling, and unsure of what to do. That’s when the leaders, agents, and staff across all of our offices rallied together for me. They started an incredibly impactful fundraiser on my behalf. And they even made regular runs of essential supplies to me until I got back on my feet. Now I’m in a new home — and forever grateful for receiving that support in my hour of need. Plenty of companies talk about being a family. But at Slifer Smith & Frampton, belonging to our community is just how we do business.
Tori Lord, Director of New Developments & Marketing
During the five years that it took to bring Avon’s Riverfront Village development to life, Slifer Smith & Frampton’s collaborative spirit was on full display. From well-attended sales events to the project’s incredible word-of-mouth marketing, the action and investment of our network of brokers helped make this cornerstone development a great success. In the end, the results speak for themselves. Slifer Smith & Frampton brokers represented nearly 75% of the 112 buyers within Riverfront Village. And our team showed up for us like never before on this community-defining project.
Molly Griffin, Listing Broker on Avon’s Riverfront Village project
In January 2023, my husband and I welcomed a new baby to our family. Unfortunately, not too long after this, I fell and broke my foot. It was an overwhelming time. But the Slifer Smith & Frampton community stepped up — right when I needed it most. They organized a meal train and offered me their company with friendly visits. I already knew firsthand how helpful and collaborative Slifer Smith & Frampton was in doing business. But this was something else. It’s a level of camaraderie that you won’t find at other companies because it’s just how we’re built. I’ll be forever grateful to the Slifer crew for their support and companionship.

Givers, doers, and friends
Our company was started in Vail in 1962 (the same year the lifts started spinning!) by three pioneering leaders who saw a big future in Vail and other neighboring mountain resort communities. We’ve since expanded into Summit County, Roaring Fork Valley and the Front Range.
Slifer Smith & Frampton is independently owned and operated with a heavy emphasis on building local relationships and connections, investing in local communities and careers, and pioneering new ways of serving people and doing business.
