We talk a lot about Slifer Smith & Frampton being a community, but never have I felt it quite like I did in 2022. That summer, I lost my home — and everything in it — to a fire. I was shocked, reeling, and unsure of what to do. That’s when the leaders, agents, and staff across all of our offices rallied together for me. They started an incredibly impactful fundraiser on my behalf. And they even made regular runs of essential supplies to me until I got back on my feet. Now I’m in a new home — and forever grateful for receiving that support in my hour of need. Plenty of companies talk about being a family. But at Slifer Smith & Frampton, belonging to our community is just how we do business.

Our company was started in Vail in 1962 (the same year the lifts started spinning!) by three pioneering leaders who saw a big future in Vail and other neighboring mountain resort communities. We’ve since expanded into Summit County, the Roaring Fork Valley, and Steamboat Springs .

Slifer Smith & Frampton is independently owned and operated with a heavy emphasis on building local relationships and connections, investing in local communities and careers, and pioneering new ways of serving people and doing business.
