Vice President of Operations

Jill Dorr

“It’s important for me to raise my children here. My kids are the luckiest kids in the world to grow up here.”

Jill Dorr has always been passionate about the outdoors, living in various places with access to outdoor recreation. But even she was blown away by everything Summit County has to offer. And when she saw the vibrant community and met all the people who make it so great, she knew she was destined to stay. That was 10 years ago. And Jill continues to be blown away by Summit County every day.

Jill started working for Slifer Smith & Frampton just months after she moved to Colorado. She quickly realized it was a unique place to be, due in large part to its people. In Jill’s words:

“I stay because of the people. We really care about one another. We have fun together. We share common values and goals. We’re always striving to get better. And I honestly do learn something new every day. There’s always something new to learn and try. It keeps things interesting!”

Why is it important to you to work for a locally focused real estate company?

Our communities are small. We’re like these little pods in the mountains, somewhat isolated out here. So supporting one another is important. Because supporting our neighbors makes the whole community stronger. Slifer Smith & Frampton understands that. And that’s why I love working here.

What’s your favorite Colorado spot?

I like to go to Rainbow Lake. It’s tranquil, accessible, and pretty in all seasons. Plus, there are usually other people there, so it’s social! It’s a quick getaway to clear your head and have some fun. I have a yellow lab, Nala. She’s nine now. But she still acts like she’s two. She loves going to the lake with me. She swims, she plays fetch with sticks, she sweet talks picnickers into sharing food with her…she loves it there!

Is there a local cause that is important to you?

Early childhood education is my passion. I’m a big fan of our preschools here in Summit County. They serve such an important service in our communities. So I advocate for them as much as possible. We do community fundraisers to help them cover operating expenses, increase pay for teachers, and offer tuition assistance programs. Our teachers here have such a way with children. The way they talk to the kids and treat them as individuals is just amazing.
