A third-generation Coloradan, Jack Affleck has called the Vail Valley home for over 35 years. In his past life and career, he spent 26 years as one of Colorado’s leading sports and lifestyle photographers capturing aspirational imagery for a variety of high-end clients around the world. In 2016, he decided it was time for a change and embarked on a new calling, transitioning into real estate in order to share his love for the place he calls home with others, and help them in their journey to making it their permanent residence, or second home, too.
After joining Slifer Smith & Frampton eight years ago, he quickly rose up the ranks and was named Top Producer in 2022. Pairing his extensive knowledge of the valley’s resorts and neighborhoods with his expertise in luxury resort real estate and proven approach for guiding his buyers and sellers through every step of the process, he ensures every client a fun, rewarding, experience.
Jack currently resides near Wolcott with his wife Beth, who he met and married in Colorado before raising their two daughters together in the Vail Valley.
Why do you love the communities where you live and work?
As a photographer, I was fortunate to experience, capture and share the beauty of this Valley through the lens of my camera for years in photographs featured on the covers and pages of countless magazines and ads showcasing the wonder of the mountain life found here in Colorado and the Vail Valley. I know the precise moment the sun will rise or set in each season in every different neighborhood. I have climbed to the top of each ski resort, skied every run and hiked or ridden almost every trail. So for me, it’s not just A lifestyle my clients seek, it is My style of living.
What’s your favorite Colorado spot?
Besides my home in Bellyache overlooking the Valley, I would say Piney River Ranch is by far the most beautiful location anywhere in the Valley. My runner up? Maroon Bells Wilderness. To hike through that valley is otherworldly and truly unbeatable.
Is there a local cause that is important to you?
I have volunteered at Round Up River Ranch for many years, a non-profit organization that offers their campers and families the chance to enjoy the most extraordinarily ordinary joys of childhood through year-round activities on their ranch in Gypsum. I am deeply touched by the happiness being in the Valley brings to these kids struggling with serious life-threatening illnesses.
